How do I (or my son/daughter) become a member of Youth Leadership Fort Wayne?

Students are nominated by their schools or youth serving organizations. If you are interested in being a member of YFLW and are in 9th or 10th grade, see your school guidance counselor or the program director at these youth serving agencies: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, and Cornerstone Youth Center.

How much does it cost to be part of Youth Leadership Fort Wayne?

There is no cost to students to be a member of the class of Youth Leadership Fort Wayne. Youth Leadership Fort Wayne is supported by the generous contributions of foundations, corporations, and individuals in our community.

If I have a community project idea, can a YLFW class be involved?

If you are a non-profit organization and can show proof of status, simply submit your youth-generated project ideas to the LFW program director.

What does a LEAD Facilitator do, and how can I be one?

LEAD Facilitators are graduates of Youth Leadership Fort Wayne who receive additional training and act as mentors to new class members, assist in the implementation of the YLFW program, and plan, implement and evaluate LEAD, a leadership skills training workshop for middle school students. YLFW graduates can apply to be LEAD Facilitators.

Will someone from YLFW do leadership training outside of the program?

Yes. Areas of expertise include team building, learning styles, and experiential learning. Contact YLFW for more information.
