Northeast Indiana Nonprofit Alliance (NINA)

Enriching the Local Community by Strengthening the Nonprofit Sector

The Northeast Indiana Nonprofit Alliance (NINA) is a membership organization for area nonprofit organizations. NINA's mission is to strengthen nonprofits through leadership and organizational development.

Members of the Northeast Indiana Nonprofit Alliance benefit from a network of resources and support for their organization, including:

NINA annually offers a leadership development program for senior and middle management employees of member nonprofit organizations. This program, called Emerging Leaders Development Program, provides leadership and management information and training to develop individuals for potential executive positions.

History of NINA

NINA is an outgrowth of the former Institute for Organizational Effectiveness (iOE) at Taylor University which was established in 2000. iOE was funded by the Foellinger Foundation to provide training resources to leaders of Allen County nonprofit organizations. When the program ended, the need for these resources and training continued in the nonprofit community. To answer the need, a group of nonprofit executives banded together to develop the alliance and to find its home within the Leadership Fort Wayne mission.

About the Emerging Leaders Class

Emerging Leaders is a 6 month multi-event program that helps to strengthen the leadership and organizational skills of mid-level and senior executives in northeast Indiana’s nonprofit industry sector. Members must be nominated and accepted through an application process. Sessions focus on best practice learning and leadership skill development.
