"Training tomorrow’s leaders today"

Leadership Fort Wayne is a community leadership development, nonprofit organization. Its mission is to provide leadership development for a diverse group of citizens to enable them to effectively serve their community. Since its founding in 1983, over 1000 citizens of all ages have participated in Leadership Fort Wayne programs.

Leadership Fort Wayne is a member of the Community Leadership Association and the Indiana Leadership Association. It is one of 50 leadership development programs in Indiana and over 700 across the United States and in Canada, Great Britain and Australia.

Leadership Fort Wayne achieves its mission through five leadership development programs:

  1. Leadership Fort Wayne is designed for a diverse group of adult citizens who are willing to make a commitment to community service.
  2. Youth Leadership Fort Wayne is designed for a diverse group of high school students with leadership potential and a desire to serve our community.
  3. Youth as Resources awards grants for community service projects that are developed and implemented by youth.
  4. Leadership Exploration and Development is designed for middle school students and facilitated by graduates of Youth Leadership Fort Wayne.
  5. Building CommUnity is designed for adult citizens who are involved in their neighborhoods, churches, schools and small organizations.

In addition to its programs, Leadership Fort Wayne serves as a community resource, providing consultations, workshops, and training to nonprofit organizations’ board and staff.
